We are incredibly proud to announce that Dr. Sarah Krejci, a distinguished faculty member at 完美体育官网, has been named the new president-elect of the Florida Academy of Sciences (FAS)! She will serve in this role for two years before becoming president for an additional two years. Dr. Krejci will be the first president of FAS from B-CU and the first time an HBCU has been represented in this role.

Founded in 1936, FAS is the only organization in Florida that represents all science fields, including engineering, STEM, medical sciences, social sciences, and more. It also supports K-12 science education through the Florida Junior Academy of Sciences.

FAS has already supported B-CU with $6,000 in research funding through the RISE program and has awarded numerous research awards to B-CU students in past Annual Meetings.

28 B-CU faculty, staff, and students from the College of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (CSEM) and the College of Natural and Health Sciences (CNHS) attended the FAS Annual Meeting, presenting 18 oral presentations and posters, with some even serving as section judges— including Dr. Krejci’s amazing lab students!
