Academic Program Assessment
Academic Assessment is the collection of information about student learning taking place within a course, across a major program, or over an entire institution's curriculum and the use of that information to improve the learning experience or to provide evidence to support current teaching strategies. At B-CU, academic assessment is a faculty-driven process.
A Continuous Improvement Cycle
B-CU collects assessment data to enhance student learning outcomes in a continuous improvement cycle (as shown above) by adhering to an assessment plan, which is a blueprint for how a program will assess or evaluate over time to determine whether students are achieving each program’s expected learning goals. The Annual Planning, Budgeting and Assessment Report for each academic program details how assessment results are used to drive the strategic planning process and improve student learning.
